Greig writes that the Development Commissioners are to meet the Board of Agriculture and representatives of the cattle breeding societies to discuss their scheme. They are proposing to set aside £200 a year to pay for Ewart's travelling expenses and for small experiments which he might conduct for the Board with cattle and sheep. He also proposes to name Ewart as an adviser.

He is afraid Ewart will never get hold of an Ovis poli or Ovis ammon, as the Zoological Society has only had one in the course of its history and they are practically unobtainable. He asks whether Ewart could make do with Ovis vignei, as all the Asiatic sheep are very close. He offers to run a Vignei ram...

Prawochenski thanks Ewart for his help and apologises for any trouble has has given him. He would be honoured to be included in the Royal Society of Edinburgh Proceedings along with his colleague Kaczkowski. He will be in London shortly to purchase some horses at the Royal Agricultural Society show and hopes perhaps to meet Ewart there.

Boase congratulates Ewart on the work documented in the Penycuik Experiments. He goes on to discuss the importance of inbreeding in organic evolution in the animal world. He encloses a paper he wrote on inbreeding, which he presented to the Torquay Natural History Society in 1895.
