Note on stones and graveyard on Inch Kenneth, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire noting the gravestones as being of 'native stone', one marked as 'H M 1676', and telling how the graveyard had been 'more extensive' as a farmer had ploughed up 'cut skulls', noting the present farmer to be Lach[lan] Campbell.

Scope and Contents Note relating to the MacCodrum family, to which John MacCodrum, the bard, belonged, including that the family were 'Oda[i]r nan ron' [Caisteal Odair of the seals] and that their land was in Griminis/Griminish, Uibhist a Tuath/North Uist. John MacCodrum's patronymic is given and mention is made of 'Poul rua (Maclean) Houghge[arry]' [Hogha Gearraidh/Hougharry] that he was ''s motha is a mac Odrum' []. Across the text is written in ink 'Transcribed into No I B[ook] p[age] 196 A. A. C....

Note under the heading 'Roin' on how the Haisgeir [Theisgeir/Heisker/Monach Isles] seals were divided up between Peighinn-mhor, Griminish, Peign'nne-moire, Scolpaig and Cill-a Pheadair [Peighinn Mhòr, Griminis, Peighinn Mhoire, Cille Pheadair/Kilpheder, all Uibhist a Tuath/North Uist]. Also how there would be about 37 pints of oil in some seals and that 'Cuilein Micheil' was a seal roasted on Lath-fheill-Micheil [Latha Feille Mìcheil or Michealmas].

Note collected from Donald Currie, crofter, Baile Meadhanach/Ballymeanach, Ìle/Islay, which reads 'An cleireach mac crubag Dearc luachrach lotai[dh] [th]u sin 3 siuil mhara. His sister was stung & it last[ed] thus' indicating that his sister was stung by a lizard and the sting lasted three tides or eighteen hours. Text has been scored through as if transcribed elsewhere.
