"This girl had an IQ or 77 at school. She comes of a dreadful family and had an illegitimate baby when she was 16. Very good cook and a grand worker. Mother said to encourage her daughters."

"This boy is said to be backward at school, probably chiefly through frequent changes of school. Rather delicate. Also goes messages. Retard class, caused a lot of trouble, bad-tempered, smokes."

Sergt. says this girl is a kleptomaniac and cannot help herself - takes useless things, cigarettes, sugar etc. Employers have been sympathetic and she has not been charged. She is thought to be encouraged by her mother."

Housing conditions excellent, well-to-do family. Family relationships disturbed when he is at home - kicks his mother and has threatened to kill her."

"This man was transferred to CR, apparently dull and depressed. Discharged recovered. Readmitted acutely depressed. Also diagnosed as weakminded. Has been in CR ever since, now in farm."

[Male informant] - Queer looking girl with very thick glasses, but thinks she is all right mentally and a nice girl. Dr agrees that this woman is neurotic, but her brain is all right. Very poor physique."

"[Male informant] says this man has no brains, can just read the addresses of the letters he delivers. Is on a country round. Quick-tempered but quite decent. None of the family has any brains "just lumps of flesh with a face painted on it". All the children take after their father, mother has noticed this and deplores it."
