Engraving showing Loch an Eilein [captioned Loch-an-Eilan]. Artist Thomas Allom (1804-1872), engraver Henry Griffiths (fl.1835-1849), and initial publisher George Virtue (1794-1868). Perspective is from the north west shore, featuring Loch an Eilein Castle prominently.

This is an engraving showing a portrait of Scottish philosopher David Hume (1711-1776), with the caption: "David Hume. From a Print by A. Smith, after a Picture by Allen Ramsay. Under the superintendence of the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge. London, Published by Charles Knight & Co. Ludgate Street." And just under the portrait: "Engraved by W. Holl".

Content Description

This is a small panorama in six panels showing a 360 degree view of London, centred on St. Paul's, seen from across the Thames. Aquatint engraving by Frederick Birnie, based on drawings by Henry Aston Barker, which were used to create the full-size panorama shown in Robert Barker's public panorama in 1792.
