Autograph letter signed from Herman Merivale to the conchologist and botanist Mary Horner Lyell, London (“Colonial Office At 14”), no date: “It will give me very much pleasure to dine with you tomorrow (Tuesday) and the more in family the better as far as I am concerned. Your note did not reach me till today, as I went down on Saturday to pass two nights at my brothers’ in Essex.
