Biography

Publius Cornelius Scipio Aemilianus Africanus Numantinus (c 185–129 BC), primarily known as Scipio Aemilianus, or also Scipio Africanus Minor, or Scipio Africanus the Younger, was an important politician and general of the Roman Republic. He took command of the 3rd Punic War and destroyed Carthage. He is the central character in Cicero's Somnium Scipionis
