The second work by Sallust contained in MS 190 is Bellum Jugurthinum. This work covers the rebellion against Rome by the king of Numidia (northern Africa), Jugurtha, in 112-105 BC. Sallust describes the rise to power of Gaius Marius (who defeated Jugurtha) and his attack on the ruling Roman elite.
