De motibus Difficilibus, late 13th century

MS 166, ff. 248-252 contain a copy of De Motibus difficilibus. This text was first preserved in Arabic by the 9th century Arabic scholar, physician and translator, Johannitius (Latinised from his Arabic name, Hunayn ibn Ishaq al-Ibadi). In the late 12th-early 13th century, Marcus of Toledo made a Latin translation of the treatise based on Johannitius's Arabic version.

The text begins on f. 248r with the words Galenus inquit quoniam illi quorum proprium est...It ends on f. 252v, with: Completus est tractatus Galeni de motibus difficilibus translatus a johannicio de greco in arabicum et a marco toletano de arabico in latinum.
