A digest of Twelver Shi'ite Islamic Law by Sirāj al-Ḥaqq. The work (or this copy) was written at the request of Sir William Jones (so states a note at the beginning, and another at the end, in the hand of Col. John Baillie).

Custodial History
This work bear the name of the author, Sirāj al-Ḥaqq. The note in Baillie's hand, described above, states that a translation of the work (most probably into English) was commenced at Lucknow on the 16th March, 1798 (24th Ramaḍān, 1212), and completed on the 20th February, 1799 (13th Ramaḍān, 1213).

Donated to the University of Edinburgh Library by Lieutenant-Colonel John Baillie of Leys' grandson, also named John Baillie, in 1876.
