Biographical / Historical
Beale's book, Paramecium Genetics and Epigenetics, written collaboratively with John Preer Jr., was published by Routledge, Taylor and Francis in 2008. Chapter 4, eventually titled 'Methods of Studying Genetics Processes in Organisms of the Paramecium aurelia Species Group', discussed, among other things, W. John Haynes' work on gene cloning.
