Photographic print showing Kildrummy Castle, Aberdeenshire. Known as 'the noblest of northern castles'. The castle dominated Strathdon as the seat of the earls of Mar. Built in the mid 1200s, the castle guarded the point where the main routes from the south met before entering Moray and Buchan.

Scope and Contents Small gloss photographic print showing stone panel illustration of crucifixion. Kinkell Church first appears on records in the early 1200s and was the mother church of Kinkell parish. It was associated with the Knights Hospitallers from the 1300s until 1420 when the churches' revenues transferred to Aberdeen Cathedral. Gloss photographic print showing the interior and plasterwork ceiling of one of the principal drawing rooms which date from 1624. The ceilings consist of the heraldry of the Burnett of Leys family, relations and friends intermixed with biblical iconography. The overmantel of the Great Hall fireplace features the arms of King James VI flanked by Egyptian? figures.

The chapel was dedicated on 22 May 1276 by William Wishart, Bishop of St. Andrews. The chapel was never a parish church but was included the parish of Fetteresso.
