Scope and Contents
A collection of seventeen sermons. The copyst presents them as addressed to monks and gives the alternative title Speculum monacorum ('Mirror for monks') in his rubric at the beginning of the text. The sermons are all attributed by the copyst to Caesarius (c. 468 - 542) who became Bishop of Arles and one of the most important religious authorities and influent preachers of Merovingian France.
