"This man, an insurance agent, is alcoholic. Tries to combat it by remaining out of the town until the pubs are closed. Dr confirms this man has bad bouts - used to drink eau-de-cologne. Can stand very little alcohol, has to be put on hyocine. Bad heart. Clever and able man. Grandfather was an alcoholic. [Male informant] thinks this man should not be included as an alcoholic; he has never seen him drunk and it does not interfere with his work. Sergt. does not think this man drinks much."

[Male informant] disagrees - he thinks she probably went to the dances to kee an eye on her daughter. Dr says asthma and bad temper, otherwise OK."

"[Male informant] thinks this girl is neurotic; she is thin and deformed. Keeps house. [Female informant] - Dull and queer, has never had a job. [Male informant] - Queer looking girl with very thick glasses, but thinks she is all right mentally and a nice girl. Dr agrees that this woman is neurotic, but her brain is all right. Very poor physique."

"This woman, a widow living in a condemned house, has lived an awful life, is a peculiar body, you seldom see her but she is an awful tongue if you do. Cohabiting with her lodger, who is separated from his wife. Housing: Two rooms, filthy. Very dirty, goes about with a crutch. Should be in a home."
