Story about Calum Cille's [St Columba] holiness being proved by his mother's illness. A servant had said to Calum Cille's mother that Calum Cille was not as holy as he pretended. His mother went to bed ill and he told her she would be better and she was thus proving his holiness. Text has been scored out as if transcribed elsewhere.

Scope and Contents Story about Calum Gobha who was on Bernary [Berneray/Bearnaraigh nera Barra/Barraigh] during the storm of 3 October 1860. The storm was so fierce that the people were very afraid and sent Calum to get the holy water for prayers. Calum found a bottle of whisky next to the holy water, he took a swig of the whisky and then went out and sprinkled it on the people and cattle, he repeated this and the storm abated. Described as 'notorious', the story states how Scott and his soldiers who carried themselves 'most ferociously' hanged a big, strong man named Iain mac Fhearchair ic Mhurachaidh ic Neill with out a trial or a judge. Story about 'Catriona bheag nin a cheannaich' who was 'taken from Mac an Duiluisg Scarp [probably Lag an Uisge, An Scarp/Scarp] to Turkey [on crusade] whereupon her 'crios' was taken from her and became the 'Bratach' [Bratach Sìth].
