Story about the plague which struck Na Hearadh/Isle of Harris during 'Linn Mh[ic] Aula' which 'carried away' many people. It tells how 'fear drove the people in floods to the church hold[in]g each others hands coming to church + sing[ing] songs. Only 3 persons came out on 3[rd] day. Church full of skulls.' The story notes how Angus, the son of Mr Aula [MacAulay] was buried opposite the pulpit on the north side of the wall alongside it.

Story about the Saidearan Dugha [Saighdearan Dubha, Jacobite soldiers] on Barraigh/Isle of Barra in which they were pursuing young men who had fled Àird Ghrèin and hidden in a cave. They met an old man and told him they would spare his life if he showed them where the young men were. In self-preservation he showed them and they killed them by setting fire to the cave.

Story collected on Ìle/Islay about the sighting of a large serpent by a Duncan Macarthur while crossing Caol rithin [possibly Caol Reatha/Kylerhea, An t-Eilean Sgitheanach/Isle of Skye]. The serpent is described as having a head 'as large as any bull dogs' and being eight feet long and of 'terrible app[earance]'. It is noted that the sighting was thirty years ago (c1855).
