Story entitled 'Toirioc Na Taineac' collected from Eachan MacIssac [erroneously given as 'MacLeod' in the text] 'Each[ann] mac Ruari', Ceannlangabhat, [Iochdar, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist], who, the note states heard it from 'Ruary Rua' MacQuien, catechist when he was about fifteen or sixteen years old. Added that MacQuien had died about fifty years ago and that 'the lays of Os[sian] & the old stories of the Fian were his principal themes'.

Scope and Contents Story entitled 'Tomas Reibhair' ['Thomas the Rhymer'] collected from Iain MacChoinich [John MacKenzie] from 'eilean Chollach' at Carbost [Cola/Coll, Càrabost, An t-Eilean Sgitheanach/Isle of Skye]. A man was buying six horses, all of them with a golden yellow forelock and after buying the last one, his servant recognised him as Thomas the Rhymer. He asks her which eye did you recognise me with and she said it was her right eye whereupon he put his finger on her eye and she was blinded....

Story entitled 'Treabhadh' about a man who was ploughing near a fairy hill when he heard a voice from inside the fairy hill calling him by name and telling him to keep his 'crom nan gad' ['crann nan gad' - plough] away from fairy hill. He took fright and never went near the hill again.

Story entitled 'Turas' about a man who sends his three sons on a journey with a bag, which they are not allowed to look into until they arrive at their destination. The eldest one decides he will look into it and in doing so falls. The other two brothers mock him and keep on going. On the eldest's return he tells his father who tells him he will need to keep his secret. The story has been scored through as if transcribed elsewhere.

Scope and Contents Story entitled 'Turas eile' in which a father sends his three sons out on a journey and tells them not to return until they see water going up a slope. The brothers stop at several streams but it is not until they let their horses drink that the eldest brother realises that is what their father meant.
