Animal welfare

A publication by M. Beddow Bayly, reprinted from the "Daily Herald", June 27th 1929 titled "The Case Against Vivisection". This publication was issued by the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Vivisection.

A deputation, sent to the Home Secretary, Rt. Hon. J. Chuter Ede, on the 23rd February 1948 from the conference of anti-vivisection societies. The title of the deputation is "The Case Against Vivisection", and it contains the opinions of those within the anti-vivisection movement and examples of ill treatment of animals. It was published by the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Vivisection.

An article, written by M. Beddow Bayly, titled "The Cure for Cancer: The Facts". The article concerns the use of animals in cancer research and argues there are alternatives to using animals in research. It was first published in 1956 and reprinted in both 1958 and 1965.

An article, originally from the 1958 annual report for the SSPV, titled "The Dog in Artificial Earth Satellite", is mainly about the plight of Laika the dog and the experiments carried out on animals in the name of space exploration.
