A pictorial leaflet showing the traffic industry in laboratory dogs. The photograph shows the living conditions of the dogs and them being rescued from the laboratory. The verso of the leaflet is an invitation to join the SSPV, listing A.C.T. Nisbet and Chairman, and Harvey Metcafe as Secretary.

A leaflet (no.353) distributed by the National Canine Defence League under the title "The Royal Commission and the Exemption of Dogs from Vivisection".

The leaflet contains a breakdown of a report of the Royal Commission on Vivisection and how the report relates to experiments on animals.

Examples of leaflets which were distributed by the Scottish Tail Wagger's Club. Each one addresses a different issue which relates to the welfare of dogs from extracts from "Vivisection of Dogs, the case for exemption), published over the signatures of 59 qualified medical practitioners". Set out below as follows.

1. Surgery 3. Diabetes and action of drugs 5. Canine Distemper, legal requirements for anaesthesia 6. Exclusively English Experiments on Dogs

A pamphlet published by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and distributed by the Scottish division, titled "The Shipment of Horses for Butchery Abroad", by A.M.F. Cole. The pamphlet highlights continued animal abuse of horses documented on voyages to the continent for butchery.

A transcription of two sermons giving by Rev. Goerge Jack M.A. of St Mungo's Chruch, Leith. Reprinted from "The Leith Observer, 1919, titled "The Sin of Cruelty to Animals". The issues covered in the sermon include the fur trade, vivisection, whether cruelty is a sin, the devine rights of animals.

This pamphlet "The Surgery of Mirtal Stenosis", by M Beddow Bayly accompanies his previous publication "Blue-Babies and Heart Surgery". Both regard the use of operations on dogs used to develop treatment for heart defects.

This has been reprinted from Animals' Defender, May, 1961 and published by the SSPV.
