"This lad had an IQ of 75 at school. Dull but was a good worker "an earnest wee soul". Now an errand boy. Mother, 55 or so, mentally all right, has had some illegitimate children. Housing: awful - 2 rooms for 16. Fairly clean. [Male informant] says they are a fair average for country children but Dr says this family is not intelligent, all neurotic. "Diagnosis: Mental Deficiency (infantile paralysis). He is an illegitimate child, his mother is defective but not certified. Father unknown. "He has always been very backward. He has "filthy turns" in which he would wet his bed and eat his faeces. They last for about a week. Then he would be clean for a few weeks. No epil. fits. He is destructive and aggressive, is cruel to the other children." W.R. weak positive. IQ 66."
