This collection consists of eight letters of Alexander Lindsay, 6th Earl of Balcarres, afterwards 23rd Earl of Grawford, 5 to Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville and 3 to Robert Dundas, 2nd Viscount Melville. 1788-1812. All letters are signed "Balcarres". Letters 4 and 5 are written from Jamaica, the others from Edinburgh, Balcarres, and Haigh Hall.
