Story entitled 'Legacy', August 1883
Scope and Contents
Story about a legacy paid to Alexander Stewart and Mary Macdonald, parents of Duncan and James Stewart, who went to Jamaica after the Battle of Culloden, and the claim made on it by their sister Maighread [Margaret Stewart]. The story also notes family relationships including Maighread's marriage to Donald MacCombaich in Torosey [Torosay, Muile/Mull] and the marriage of Margaret Black to Donald Macintire [Macintyre], Achnanduin [Achadun, Lios Mòr/Lismore]. These Stewarts are noted as being 'Stewarts of Appin'.
