Scope and Contents Letter to Sir Andrew Crombie Ramsay from Sir John William Dawson asking him to propose his son George Mercer Dawson for membership of the Geological Society. He gives a brief summary of his son's geological career to date. He mentions that he is publishing a book and a paper on Eozon. He laments the death of Sir Charles Lyell and Sir William Logan's current illness.
