Gaelic dictionary. A-B., 18th century
Scope and Contents
A manuscripted dictionary, which appears to be the first part of a series of dictionaries. It appears to have become separated from the original document because the section B ends at baile, which is recorded in this document as meaning 'a deluge of water' in English. Its author is unknown.

Language of Materials
Focus: Scottish Gaelic. Translations and explanations in English.
Physical Description
The pages are in good condition. The handwriting is clear. The front and back cover are severely damaged and weak. The binding is also damaged, which has resulted in the document becoming separated into three parts, resembling three booklets. It is likely they were all originally bound together, however. It is not known whether other volumes (i.e. from C onwards) were ever produced, or whether the series of dictionaries were ever completed.
