Epistola ad Raymundum de curia rei familiaris by Pseudo-Bernard of Clairvaux, 14th or 15th century
Contents
The final folio of MS 194 contains a fragment of a letter to a soldier named Raymundus on 'de regimine domus', or management of the household, including caring for a wife, children and servants. This letter has often been attributed to the 11th-12th century monastic reformer, St Bernard of Clairvaux, although it is extremely unlikely that he was the author.
The letter on f. 136r begins with Incipit epistola sancti bernardi de Regimine domus. Gracioso et felici militi Reverendo domino Raymundo castri ambrosi bernardus...
The letter ends incompletely on f. 136v with sic agendum est quoniam
