Contents These two folios, titled 'epistola bernardi' in MS 186, contain a letter from St Bernard, the first abbot of Clairvaux in the early 12th century. St Bernard was influential as a reformer of Benedictine monasticism which led to the creation of the Cistercian Order. Contents The final folio of MS 194 contains a fragment of a letter to a soldier named Raymundus on 'de regimine domus', or management of the household, including caring for a wife, children and servants.
