Festival of Britain Exhibition: posters, 1951
Scope and Contents
2 posters (77cm x 102cm) advertising entry to, and the publicly open buildings in the reconstructed Lansbury Neighbourhood (Neighbouhood no 9) of the London County Council Comprehensive Development Area no 2: Stepney / Poplar. This was organised as the "Live Architecture Exhibition" in the Festival of Britain 1951. 1 poster, in full colour, graphically displays the idea of new homes rising from the rubble of post World War II destruction. The other poster in black and green gives general information concerning the development, and additional information and photographs on schools, homes, the shopping centre and Trinity Church. This was produced as a supplement to the publication Map Review, published by the Bureau of Current Affairs.
