Inscription on front flyleaf reads 'This volume belonged to Professor Moffat, and contains his MS annotations. It was gifted by him to the Rev. D. H. Lawrence, D.D. Broughty Ferry, and is now gifted to New College Library by the Rev. W. R. Lawrence, M.A. Galashiels. October, 1952.'
