Most likely a facsimile of an engraving portrait of Allan Ramsay by George Vertue and engraved by Smibert. Ramsay built the original Ramsay Lodge (nicknamed "The Goosepie") in his youth. Most likely a facsimile of an engraving portrait of Allan Ramsay. The poet aged 39, painted by Aikman in 1723, "Allan Ramsay - William Aikman (pinxit), William Howison (sculpit). Published by Blackie & Son, Glasgow, Edinburgh & London." The picture has a rounded top and has obviously been removed from a book.
