Edinburgh: diagrammatic plan of the new Royal Burgh, c. 1230, c 1914
Diagrammatic Plan of the new Royal Burgh showing the probable extensions and boundaries prior to the grant of ecclesiastical settlements around 1230. The central street or market-place of Edinburgh was laid out one hundred feet wide with low galleried houses on each side.

Some are marked and are therefore copyright of W. Reid; Balmain Photographers, Edinburgh; and The Scotsman - some of these may belong in Coll-1167/C/2

Edinburgh Model from the south east, c 1985
Edinburgh model from the south-east. It is possible that this model was the first exhibit in the "Outline of a Survey of Edinburgh" in the 1911 "Cities and Town Planning Exhibition". If so, it was made by Paul Reclus (1858-1941) in true relief, i.e horizontal and vertical scales the same, showing various aspects of the city. Handwritten title on the original envelope containing the corresponding glass plate negatives was written by Alasdair Geddes.
