Note about 'Creag an Fhithich' describing a rock with writing on the north end which has not been deciphered. It also describes two deep caves, one of which is inaccessible and the other 'had been liven in - full of shells'. The vocabulary note reads 'Scrot = Shelf in rock'. Text has been scored through as if transcribed elsewhere.

Note probably collected from Donald MacColl [foxhunter, Glencreran, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire] that there were [wooden] holy statues or images of Curalan [St Cyril], Calum Cille [St Columba] and St Moluag kept in the church on Cuirralan [Beinn Churalain], Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire] which were destroyed by 'sgampeoran' [scamps] who came to a bad end as a result and that there was a castle on top of Beinn Chuirailain [Beinn Churalain].

Note entitled 'Font' describing the carvings on a baptismal font, one side showing Christ and the cross, another the Virigin and child, another a bishop 'in full pontificals and crozier' and on the last side a knight in full armour. Also on the font there are 'beautiful celtic basketwork', plants and inscriptions which are no longer legible. The font is St Michael's font in the Chapel of St Maelrube [Maol Rubha], Lochaoineart, An t-Eilean Sgitheanach/Isle of Skye.

Scope and Contents Story collected on Tarasaigh/Taransay about the sons of the Duke of Argyll's and MacLeod of MacLeod's eldest sons. The story tells how the two sons were together at the Royal High School Edinburgh [Dùn Èideann] or Edinburgh University and the Duke's son was being bullied by a sizable 'gille galda' [gille Gallda or Lowlander]. MacLeod's son stepped in to help the Duke's son but between the two of them they beat the gille Gallda so badly that he died from his injuries. The two fled to Dunvegan...
