The RSPCA argues that the transportation is unnecessarly cruel and proposes centres in the UK being set up for horses to retire to and be slaughtered. The letter is dated July 1914 and is address to the Secretary of British Animal Products Ltd.

This pamphlet, issued by the Animal Defence and Anti-Vivisection Society, includes a chart which shows the actions of those who use animals for medical research compared to the Vivisection Act of 1876. The verso of the document contains illustrations of animals being experimented on.
