Assortment of items originally contained loosely in a bound volume, 1927-1957
These items consist of a bound volume and seven envelopes. The envelopes contain material which has been removed from the volume and consists of a variety of photographs, correspondence, typescripts, ephemera and newspaper clippings. The bound volume still contains some items which have been affixed inside, namely: a letter to Greenwood relating to his service with the Home Guard (January 1945) and various newspaper clippings and articles.

Ewart writes that he is sending Douglas another paper on the development of the horse, but that he will require financial help to continue with the work. He supposes that the Development Commissioners are not worth approaching, but asks Douglas to consider the matter favourably.

Ewart writes that Watson has started for Shetland with sufficient introductions. Ewart's paper will appear in the Transactions of the Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland. He asks what Elwes wants done with the Shetland hoggs when shorn and with the wethers.

Irving writes that he could not get hold of any copies of the abstract of his paper on the Solutré horse, but that his presentation of it went well. He acknowledges Ewart's help with his work with the Equus robustus.
