Scope and Contents
Notes on the illegitimacy of MacDonalds probably collected from Margaret MacDonald, Malacleit/Malaclete, Uibhist a Tuath/North Uist stating that Donull Gruamach [Domhnall Gruamach] was the first of the MacDonalds to have inherited through marriage law as all previous incumbents had been illegitimate. Donl Gorm [Domhnall Gorm] and Murdoch were brothers while Goraidh was said to have been castrated and so had no children. Sìol Ghoraidh's response to that was that Sìol Mhurchaidh who were descended from seann Aonas Maconail Kintire [Seann Aonghas MacDhomhnaill, Cinn Tire/Kintyre], whose children has been 'ginte under the craicean bra'ain & so were illeg[itimate]'.
