Biographical / Historical
Jonathan Knowles joined Beale's laboratory in 1970 on a Medical Research Centre scholarship for Training and Research Methods. He remained for the next five years and developed techniques for micro-injections of mitochondria into living paramecia. Beale and Knowles also collaborated on a book, Extranuclear Genetics, published by Edward Arnold in 1978.
