The final 45 folios of MS 163, ff. 73-118, contains a copy of the Aphorisms of Hippocrates. This text was also part of the medieval medical reference volume, the 'Articella'. F. 72v contains an interesting preface to the text that follows, on ff. 73-118v, the Aphorisms of Hippocrates. The short preface on f. 72v blames the inaccuracy and obscurity of previous translations (into Latin, from the original Greek) of the Aphorisms. The text is only 24 lines, and begins with Afforismum ypocratis hujus edictionis causa exstitit... It ends with septima in acutis...
