Scope and Contents The first informal recording of 16th and 17th century houses was made by self-taught artist and engraver Bruce J. Home between 1870 and 1900. Home had undertaken the task of recording the appearance of interesting buildings in the Old Town of Edinburgh. This series contains a set of plates, letterpresses and drawings which form the content for Bruce J. Home's "Old Houses of Edinburgh" published by the Old Edinburgh Club (1904-1907) in two volumes.
