Papers of Alexander Falconer Giles, Lecturer in Classical History at the University of Edinburgh
This collection consists of approx. 50 notebooks and bound volumes of notes taken by Giles as a student at Balliol College, and as a lecturer in Classical History at the University of Edinburgh. Also includes a typescript entitled 'On Land, Sea and Ice. An Autobiography' by J. Burn Wood, 1947.
It also includes one photograph album and eight individual photographs acquired later, all related to Alexander F. Giles and his family.

Typed case summary, notes and correspondence relating to female patient from Scotland (outside Edinburgh and the Lothians) aged 62 at first examination in 1937. Conditions mentioned include: choroiditis; blurry vision; and vomiting. No treatment given. Patient discharged.

'The Gaelic version of the Thebaid of Statius', Late 19th or early 20th century
This is a transcription of the Gaelic version of the Latin poem by Statius, 'Thebaid'. The manuscript NLS.72.1.8,ff-28 is held at the National Library of Scotland. It is suggested on page 195 that this manuscript is based on an old French translation of the original Latin text.
