Scope and Contents Vocabulary note for Cairiste or Presan describing it as a payment to the landlord for a half pennyland which is made up of six yards of linen, two stones of butter, two and a half stones of cheese and three bolls of oatmeal. 'Fear na feorlig' or someone with a farthing land (half of a half pennyland) would pay half of the quantity listed.
