A reprint of an article from the Sunday Pictorial Newspapers (from issues 11th, 18th, and 25th December, 1960), titled "Secret Savagery". The article contains information on experiments which cause pain to living animals.
It was reprinted by the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Vivisection in 1969 and withdrawn from publication 1st May 1979.

This was prepared and published by the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, for the Humane Societies of the United States.
The document asks that all animals should be rendered 'unconscious by some humane device of every food animal before the drawing of blood.'
